Fifth Grade

Mrs. Donna Guerin

Welcome to the your Fifth Grade journey.  Some of you I had the pleasure of having in Fourth Grade, and some of you are new faces that I look forward to getting to know.  My name is Mrs. Guerin and I will be your teacher this year.  I would like to tell you a little about myself.    I have been teaching for 17 years.  I received my Masters in Education from Hofstra University on Long Island in New York.  I have taught every grade level K-6 and have had the opportunity to teach in both Colorado and New York.  I love technology and creating projects, (as some of you know) so I can’t wait to see what kinds of great things we can create together.

On a personal note, I moved here 17 years ago from New York.  I grew up there and married my husband Mark.  We have four children of our own.  Nicolette is my oldest daughter, she is going to be a junior this year at Boise State University.  My other daughter Chloe is going to be a freshman at Arizona State University.  I also have two sons, Ryan, who will be a sophomore this year in high school and Jake, my youngest, who will be in Second Grade.  When I am not in school, I love to spend time with my family, and we love to travel!  This summer we are going on a family trip to Puerto Vallarta.

I know the 4 C’s are very important as are the World Class Outcomes.  We will be doing all kinds of things to help spark our Creativity, while we Collaborate and Communicate great ideas.  We will truly be 21st century learners and expert Critical Thinkers.  We will also do lots of fun things with technology too, like perhaps claymation!

I am looking forward to a magical year full of learning and discovery.

Ms. Kelley Simpson

My name is Kelley Simpson and I am so excited to begin a new year at Mammoth Heights Elementary! I have taught for the last twelve years, ten of which were spent at a private school for gifted and talented individuals in the Denver area. Throughout those years, I taught everything from first to sixth grade; though the majority of my teaching experience has been in a 5th/6th split grade classroom and a straight fifth grade room.

I am a fourth generation Colorado native and was raised in Douglas County. Though I have done a great deal of traveling around the United States and abroad, I have always called Colorado home. I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder as an undergraduate and earned a Bachelor degree in English and Psychology. From there, I attended the University of Denver for my teacher training, earning a teaching certificate and subsequently a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing fiction, all types of visual art, taking my kayak out, and spending time with my family who still live in Colorado. I have a passion for the outdoors and a great love of animals. I look forward to getting to know all of the new fifth graders and their families.

Mrs. Bonnie Campos

  My Website
Hello, and welcome to Fifth Grade! My name is Bonnie Campos, and I am so excited to be back in the Mammoth Heights Community! I opened MHE in 2007 and taught 4th grade here for eight years. I left to pursue other opportunities in 2015, but I am so blessed to be back in this incredible school and community. I received my BA from Florida Atlantic University and my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado. This is my 25th year teaching, and I have taught preschool, Kindergarten, first, fourth, and fifth grades. My husband and I have been married for 28 wonderful years, and we have two amazing daughters. Alexa lives in Florida with her husband, Cole, and Mallory lives near us here in Colorado with her husband Michael. I have a very "senior" kitty named Cinderella (I'm a Disney princess fan!) who is very spoiled. I have many hobbies including running (I finished my second Disney marathon in January), scuba diving, hiking, playing piano, reading, and all things technology. I am very excited about our upcoming school year. I look forward to working with your child and you and making this an incredibly memorable year!

Miss Michelle Tononi

Hi! My name is Michelle Tononi and welcome to 5th grade at Mammoth Heights. I graduated from Ferris State University located in Big Rapids, Michigan. I graduated with my BS in Elementary Education with minors in math and science. I have been working in elementary schools for the past five years along with coaching softball in my free time. I am excited to start my teaching career with the Mammoth family.
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan - the home of Faygo pop, Better Made chips, and the Detroit Tigers! I love hiking, camping, and snowboarding, making Colorado the perfect fit for me. As a teacher it is important to me that my classroom is a second home to my students. I believe that every student is a unique individual with a distinctive learning style that I will teach to. As a class we will work towards developing deeper thinking and a love for learning. Go Mammoths!
